On Monday the Department of Transportation (DOT) announced the availability of $474 million in Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grants for 2013.
DOT is looking for surface transportation projects that will have a significant impact on the nation, a region, or a metropolitan area and projects, such as:
This is the fifth time TIGER grants have been awarded, and the four previous rounds supported 218 projects in places like Corpus Christi, Texas; Detroit, Michigan; Birmingham, Alabama; and Normal, Illinois.
Interested applicants can review the DOT’s grant resources page and view the full Notice of Funding Availability. The deadline for applications is June 3, 2013.
