Why do all of us at SGA support smart growth? For so many reasons.
Because streets should be community spaces. Because good transit deserves good housing. Because every kid deserves to live in safe and healthy communities. Because rural communities want to compete in a modern economy. Because we should protect great neighborhoods and build more like them. Because it leads to the kind of development that enables people to live, work, and play — all in the same neighborhood.
And as our CEO Geoff Anderson put it, “because kids should be able to walk to get ice cream!”
